About Lisa McClung’s Hands of Praise

Lisa began learning American Sign Language (ASL) in August 2005.  For the first time she made a Deaf friend, Judy, when she started taking signing classes.  Judy has been instrumental in Lisa’s progress in learning ASL.  Through Judy’s motivation and encouragement, she studied and practiced Sign Language for hours everyday.

The Holy Spirit gave Lisa inspiration to provide an avenue to reach the Deaf through musical signing.  While making this DVD she asked the Holy Spirit to guide her and to use her gifts to demonstrate God’s love to them.

The vision of Lisa McClung is to see people give their lives to Jesus Christ, as well as see them healed through His blood, by sharing the gospel through her Music Ministry.  The unique desire is to share the gospel, especially to our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing brothers & sisters.

Her goal as she travels to different places is to make people aware of how many Deaf and Hard of Hearing people do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, as someone needs to present the Gospel to them in an enjoyable and understanding manner.

Lisa also partners with a non-profit organization called God’s Hands Agency (GHA) who, through churches in our community, offers free sign language classes for beginners and intermediate students, along with interpreting services.  They also offer Support Groups, with many other programs for our Deaf and children of Deaf parents.  Also, a division of GHA – The Community Interpreters offers interpreting services for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  A portion of the sales from her DVDs will go directly to GHA.

Lisa’s prayer is that you will join her and become involved in the Deaf culture to more effectively minister to them.  God loves them, and they need to know the depth of God’s love.  But how will they know unless they are told, and how will they understand unless they are taught in a language they know…Sign Language.

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor hear the gospel preached to them.  Matthew 11:5 KJV
